Base concepts

Obsidian Vaults

Obsidian has a few concepts you should be aware of. The first you'll encounter is the concept of the "vault". An Obsidian vault is a "workspace" for your notes. That workspace corresponds to a folder in your computer's (or mobile device) file system.

You can have as many vaults as you want, but you can only open one at a time. That being said, nothing prevents you from launching multiple Obsidian windows, each using a different vault.
